PEER TUTORING SYLLABUS

Introduction:

     Thank you and welcome to the peer power course!!  I am glad to have each one of you and am looking forward to this semester. Upon the completion of this class, peer tutors will have learned about interacting with students of different abilities, friendship building with others, as well as disability awareness and other topics.

Evaluation:

     **Participation – 240 points

     Peer tutors will earn 3 points per class if they are present, on time, and are willing to help others.

     **Weekly journals – 70 points

     Peer tutors will keep weekly journals on their observations, thoughts, questions, reflections regarding their experiences as peer tutors.  There will be a total of 15 journal entries required.  (Due dates are attached)  I am looking for 2 to 3 paragraphs at the least per weekly journal to receive the full 5 points. 

     *Assignments/Projects  --  120-150 points

     This semester you will be required to complete 4 or 5 assignments/projects.  The topics are listed below.  Each project will be worth 30 points for a total of 120 - 150 possible.  Due dates are decided at a later date.
