Dear Parents: 

I am pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s sixth grade writing teacher for the 2008-2009 school year.  I am looking forward to working with your child and making their sixth grade educational experience successful for them. 

 I began my teaching career in Texas in 1999 after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s in Applied Learning and Development, majoring in Special Education and English.  For the past six years, I have been a teacher here at Woodford County Middle School.  I have had the opportunity not only to teach writing but many other subjects as well as collaborate in many  classrooms.  I also recently obtained my Master’s in Educational Leadership at the University of Kentucky.

 Throughout the school year I will have my class webpage up and running so that you may refer to it for assignments, due dates, and other pertinent  information. Since we know that education is most effective when it is a joint effort between home and school, I am anxious to get to know you as well as your child.
