Textbook:  Teen Health, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill
	  Totally Awesome Health, Meeks/Heit
Materials:  Paper, pocket folder for papers or three ring binder, and pencil for class everyday
Students will need to provide the follow for Health class:
ALL:		$5.00 for CPR certification	3 x 5 Index cards  		Graph paper
6th grade:		Markers			Construction paper		Paper Plates
7th grade:		Glue			Colored pencils		Kleenex
8th grade:		Crayons			Scissors			Dry Erase Markers
**Classroom instruction and material will be modified based on grade level and class/students needs.  Content may not be taught in the order seen.  Parents/Guardians are welcome to preview all health material.**

"	Social Interaction Skills
"	Stress, Conflict, Bullying, and Peer Pressure Responses
"	Changes in adolescence including the reproductive system structures and functions along with puberty
"	What can affect your body systems? (Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs, Exercise, etc)
"	Communicable Diseases 
"	Noncommunicable Diseases
"	Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug (legal and illegal) Use/Abuse
"	Substance Use/Abuse
"	Inhalant Use/Abuse
"	Dietary Habits
"	Eating Disorders
"	Abstinence, consequences of being sexually active (including HIV/AIDS/STDs)
"	"Why kNOw?" (taught through the Woodford County Health Dept.)
"	How to abstain from sexual activity
"	Mental and Emotional Problems 
"	Where to find help for problems
"	Self-management strategies (time management, goal setting, etc)
Nutrition
"	Importance of eating a well balanced diet
"	Dietary guidelines for Americans
Safety
"	How to deal with health hazards safely
"	Basic first aid procedures
"	CPR/First Aid training and possible certification upon passing the requirements by the AHA
Consumerism
"	Factors to consider when making purchases
